Aspire To Inspire

The theme for TEDXYouth@LAHSGwalior is: “ASPIRE TO INSPIRE”. To aspire is to rise up to a great plan, an abundant hope of fulfilling a worthwhile mission. To inspire is to convey a feeling of joining a higher cause, influencing soulful action, says author Jon Mertz. Simply defined, aspire is an individual effort while inspire brings others into the mix. TEDxYouth@LAHSGwalior-2019 thus intends to give a platform to speakers who aspire to inspire with groundbreaking ideas that possess a power to change the world.

Tina Olyai: An Active Leader, A Versatile Writer, A Well Recognised Persona

They wanted to rear the children in the ‘Garden of God’ where each one of them becomes as ‘little angels’. The idea bloomed into reality and thus came in existence Little Angels School. This was to be a distinguished school where children do not excel only academically but also spiritually, because the ambitious couple was driven by the vision of Baha’u’llah—the Prophet Founder of the Baha’i Faith—who clearly said: “Every child is potentially the light of the world…

Aman Bhalla

Corporate Leader, Rehabilitation Activist
From joining his family business right after he graduated from school to assuming a sales leadership role in a reckoned corporate Aman is an Alumnus of LAHS, Gwalior who has carved his own destiny by using as tools - the successes, failures and experiences that he encountered on his way.

There was always a philanthropist in him who often thought of doing his bit towards the society. So, during his first year of a corporate career he started contributing 10% of his salary towards social causes. While steadily climbing the corporate ladder, he was travelling the world and it was then during his business trips to Europe and the US that he ended up introspecting about the challenges we face in our country. He realised how much more we need to do, to uplift the lives of many & that too, not just financially.  It was during that period that he turned down a few international offers & decided to stay here in India and do his bit in improving the lives of a few around us.

With a few months of research he came across this NGO Apne Aap Women’s Collective which was trying with great difficulties to uplift the lives of an extremely marginalised group in our society, sex workers & their families. The stories narrated were heart wrenching.. from the miserable lives that these women and their children were forced to live tohow their daughters are stuck in the inter generational cycle of prostitution. He identified that the biggest problem is the limited visibility & acceptance of these professionals into our mainstream society.

He joined AAWC in 2014 as an English &Computer volunteer. Subsequently he has been able to raise around 40 lacs INR & has been able to bring some visibility around the issue. The NGO AAWC, has been able to place 600 + girls in the mainstream society & some of them are currently working in MNCs, theatres, five star hotels etc. Twoof his students are also in college now.

But according to him we still have to go a long way in uplifting the lives of these underprivileged & most importantly towardsmagnified visibility around this cause to bring awareness & acceptance to our mainstream society.
